I am a student at Texas State University. We have Microsoft HoloLens & I’m working on Spatial Mapping & Spatial Understanding techniques.
The objective of the project is to use Microsoft HoloLens in order to scan rooms and take the coordinates of walls and doors of the room.
More like converting an object file into vector indoor map. In order to do that we need to translate the vertices and normals of a spatial map object file into coordinates of the corners of the wall and door.
My questions are the following:
Is there a 3 mt limitation on the spatial mapping of Microsoft HoloLens. For example, if I’m in a room of 8*8 room, do I need to use different spatial anchors?
In the object file, we have the vertices of a spatial map but I cannot find the vertices of spatial anchors thus it is very hard for me to reconstruct the coordinate system.
Do you know how we can find the coordinates of individual spatial anchors?
Is there any way I can detect or extract the coordinates of the door from the spatial map?
Do you know of any application or solution or can you help me solve my problem?
Kindly, provide me with the information and do the needful.
